As a MA candidate at American University in Washington D.C in the Arts Management program all capstone presentations are free and open to the public.

My portfolio examines federal visual art programs in the U.S and considers current and past programs and recommendations for the future.

The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of federally sponsored visual artist work-relief and federally sponsored visual artist-service programs in the U.S. To limit the scope of this capstone, this study focuses on the United States and the visual arts only.

This capstone consists of:

  1. Literature Review

  2. Report on past and current visual artist work-relief and visual artist-service programs in the U.S

  3. A case study that considers the support for or against instituting a new federal art program during the COVID-19 crisis, the future of federal art programs, and recommendations for the future of federal visual art programs
